"This is what alcohol is doing to people these days." Elaine Wiggan says. A fight, late afternoon at the house of Elaine Wiggan at Kennedy Hill. While I was capturing this chaos I called an ambulance but the woman who needed attending just walked away and I had to cancel the ambulance. Broome, Western Australia. ©Ingetje Tadros/Diimex
LensCulture Exposure Award Review 2015:
Ingetje, your work left me speechless, it is truly compelling and a contemporary global issue that needs to be known and address with urgency.
As far as aesthetics and visual engagement each of your images speak on their own, there is so much grief yet desire for life, and to defend their own, your series resonates deeply. Your images are really stunning, Image 07 is so powerful, the light, the intimacy, the details you capture is breathtaking you have a unique eye and a deep sensibility towards your subjects.
The access you have and the power of your visual language should continue, I urge you to keep working on this piece and gather as much images and also information as you can, your work can easily be turned into a book, but also be publish in a place that can reach a wide attentive audience, that can potentially make a change.
