The Dampier Peninsula is a peninsula located north of Broome and Roebuck Bay in Western Australia. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean to the west and north and King Sound to the east. The northernmost part of the peninsula is Cape Leveque, 13 km east is One Arm Point a remote Aboriginal community which is a 2 hour drive north of Broome on the Cape Leveque Road.
It has an amazing coastline with spectaculair views out to the Buccaneer Archipelago.
Massive tides rip past the many small islands and salt water crocodiles inhabite the waters.
Aboriginal people in One Arm Point hunt on dugon and turtle, while fishing, and mud crabbing is a part of daily life.
