Lydia has been homeless for a long time and here I caught here moving a mattress to the fence along the highway at One Mile Community in Broome. 27 September 2014 Western Australia.
The homeless situation reaching a crisis point in Broome. The Broome community is struggling to cope with a growing homeless population and an increase in drunken violence. Also overcrowded houses are a major problem in Aboriginal communities, with up to 17 people sharing a 3-bedroom house. Overcrowding leads to a wide range of problems affecting all area's of people's lives.
